Corbyn Hosts Gaza Tribunal on UK Role in Israel’s War

Former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn is hosting a two-day event in Westminster examining the United Kingdom’s role in Israel’s war on Gaza. The “Gaza Tribunal” will feature contributions from UN special rapporteur Francesca Albanese, medics, aid workers, survivors, and investigative journalists.

The gathering, taking place at Church House in London, comes after Corbyn’s failed bid to secure a formal inquiry in Parliament into the UK’s involvement, including arms sales, surveillance flights, and the use of Royal Air Force bases. His bill, backed by dozens of MPs and aid groups, was blocked earlier this year.

Organisers say the panels will assess Britain’s legal responsibilities and level of complicity. Hundreds of thousands of protesters have marched in the UK over the past two years, urging the government to cut ties with Israel. Polls suggest public opinion is increasingly critical of Israeli military action, with many Britons describing it as genocide.

The UK has suspended some arms export licences following a review, but parts for F-35 fighter jets can still reach Israel through global supply chains. Rights groups have also raised concerns about surveillance flights over Gaza, with limited parliamentary oversight of intelligence-sharing arrangements.
