The Lagos State Special Offences Court has admitted new evidence in the ongoing trial of former Central Bank of Nigeria governor, Godwin Emefiele, over alleged $4.5bn fraud.
According to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, the ruling was delivered by Justice Rahman Oshodi during proceedings on October 9.

Mr. Emefiele faces a 19-count charge bordering on corruption, bribery, and abuse of office. His co-defendant, Henry Omoile, is also charged with unlawful acceptance of gifts. Both men have denied wrongdoing.
The EFCC said the case has been adjourned until December 2 and 3 for a mini-trial. The development marks another step in Emefiele’s prosecution, following earlier court orders forfeiting assets allegedly linked to him amid investigations into financial misconduct during his tenure as CBN governor.
