A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja has granted bail of ten million naira each to Mike Ozekhome SAN and his co-defendant, Ponfa Useni, following their arraignment on a 12-count criminal charge filed by the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to allegations including forgery of an international passport and an irrevocable power of attorney used to claim ownership of a London property said to have been unlawfully procured by the late Jeremiah Useni.
Counsel to the Attorney General, Rotimi Oyedepo SAN, did not oppose bail when applications were made by defence lawyers Tayo Oyetibo SAN and F. R. Onoja SAN

In her ruling on Friday, Justice Chizoba Oji ordered each defendant to provide one surety with property in the Federal Capital Territory and to deposit their international passports with the court, directing them to meet the conditions by Monday or face remand in prison.
