Reactions have continued to trail the recent declaration of MPOX as a public health emergency of international concern.
While the World Health Organization declared the disease a public health emergency some weeks ago, a Coalition of Civil Society Organizations in Lagos, said MPOX is not as severe as Chicken pox or smallpox.
They accused the W.H.O of wanting to bring experimental vaccines to Africa in order to open a pharmaceutical market for the sale of their vaccines by inflicting fears in the minds of Africans, especially Nigerians.
Speaking at a media briefing, the Executive Director of Equity International Initiative, CHRIS INYAMA, called on the government to be proactive in cases like this instead of waiting for the response and designation of the W.H.O.
