The Nigeria Customs Service has accused valuation officers in charge of imported vehicles at the various commands of not complying with the procedure for examination, valuation, and release of imported used cars.
The accusation was contained in a circular dated August 24 and signed by Assistant Comptroller General, Tariff and Trade, C.K Niagwan.

The Assistant Comptroller General said imported vehicles are supposed to be referred to valuation seats to verify the trim of the vehicle and assign the appropriate value, instead of applying the base value.
