The Aliko Dangote Foundation has launched its 2025 National Food Intervention Project, a N16bn initiative aimed at supporting one million Nigerians.
The programme, announced at an inaugural ceremony in Kano, will see the distribution of one million 10kg bags of rice to vulnerable communities across the country’s 774 local government areas.

Marya Aliko-Dangote, representing her father, businessman and foundation chairman Aliko Dangote, unveiled the initiative on Thursday.
Mr Dangote called on the private sector to play a greater role in addressing food insecurity, urging industrialists and firms to complement government efforts through similar interventions.
He emphasised the importance of public-private partnerships in tackling hunger and poverty nationwide.
