The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has enough petrol in storage to meet Nigeria’s domestic demand, according to Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Industries Limited. Speaking at the weekend, Dangote revealed that the refinery currently holds over half a billion litres of refined petroleum products, valued at more than ₦600 billion. He assured that the facility is producing sufficient quantities of petrol, diesel, and kerosene to meet 100 per cent of Nigeria’s needs.
Dangote made this statement during a visit by Zambia’s Minister of Energy, Makozo Chikote, who led a delegation of energy experts to explore potential partnerships with the refinery. Chikote expressed admiration for Dangote’s vision, describing his approach as focused on the broader African energy landscape.

The visit also included a presentation by Edwin Devakumar, Vice President of Oil and Gas at Dangote Industries, which Chikote described as highly relevant to Zambia’s energy challenges. He reiterated Zambia’s readiness to partner with the Dangote Group to enhance energy security in Africa.
