Nigerian singer Davido has become a voting member of the Recording Academy, the organisation behind the Grammy Awards. The Academy announced the development on its official Instagram page, spotlighting new members for their contributions to music.
In a video post, the Academy highlighted the importance of member participation in the award process. Davido, reacting to the announcement, described his new role as a “game changer” and said it would allow him to have a greater voice in shaping Grammy decisions.

As a voting member, he will take part in both the nomination and final voting stages of the Grammy Awards. The organisers have confirmed that nominations for the 2026 edition will be announced on November 7, with the ceremony scheduled for February 1, 2026.
Davido has previously received four Grammy nominations without a win, including in the categories of Best Global Music Album and Best African Music Performance.
