At least 123 people have been killed and more than 680 injured in Israel’s airstrikes on Lebanon this week, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health says. The attacks have focused on southern towns and Beirut’s southern suburbs, prompting tens of thousands to flee their homes.
Hezbollah has urged residents to evacuate towns within five kilometres of the northern border and said its fighters attacked Israeli forces in southern Lebanon and the occupied Golan Heights.
Israeli authorities have sent additional troops into Lebanon and warned residents of the eastern Beqaa Valley to leave areas where military operations are expected. The Israeli army says its actions are defensive and aimed at protecting citizens near the border.

Humanitarian agencies report severe displacement, with families seeking shelter on beaches and in emergency facilities. The UN and Red Cross warn that evacuations pose risks for the elderly, sick, and injured, and are urging support for medical and basic needs.
