In a candid address, Nollywood actress Debbie Shokoya has voiced her concerns over what she describes as the declining quality of films produced on YouTube, particularly within the Yoruba Nollywood sector.
Her comments come in response to growing dissatisfaction from audiences over the standard of recent releases.
Posting on Instagram, the actress, who recently became a mother, criticised filmmakers for prioritising quantity over quality, saying this has led to widespread criticism of Yoruba films.
Calling for significant improvements, while emphasising that the industry deserves far better representation, she also urged her colleagues to tackle the negative perceptions and ensure that every aspect of movie production is given the attention it deserves.
