The Labour Party vice presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Datti Baba-Ahmed, has said anyone seeking to defeat President Bola Tinubu must be prepared for intense resistance rather than relying on the courts. He made the remarks during an interview with Nigeria Right Now, published on YouTube.
Mr Baba-Ahmed said he had warned the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, that the judiciary could not resolve what he described as fundamental breaches of the constitution during the last elections. He cited Section 134 subsection 2b of the constitution, arguing that electoral outcomes could not be corrected through legal action alone.

He added that those he accused of declaring false election results were committing criminal acts, while efforts to stop such declarations should be seen as civic responsibility.
