Defence Ministry Reaffirms Military’s Commitment to Ending Banditry, Calls for Media Cooperation

The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Mutawalle, has called on the media and society at large to support efforts to eradicate banditry in the Northwest.

Speaking during his visit to Sokoto State on Tuesday, the Minister emphasised the crucial role of journalists, particularly in countering the propaganda being spread by bandits on social media.

He urged media houses to highlight the successes achieved by the military in the fight against banditry and insurgency.

The Minister also reassessed ongoing military operations and expressed confidence that bandits would soon have no safe haven anywhere in the country.

Minister Mutawalle praised the Sokoto State government for its support and urged governors in the region to unite in the pursuit of lasting peace.
