Former Super Eagles goalkeeper Dosu Joseph has called for patience and encouragement for teenage goalkeeper Ebenezer Harcourt after Nigeria’s 4–0 defeat to Argentina ended their campaign at the 2025 FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile.
Harcourt, 15, has faced intense criticism after errors in the Round of 16 clash, including a misplaced movement that led to Argentina’s early opener. Dosu, writing on social media, urged Nigerians to show understanding, warning that harsh criticism could damage the player’s confidence.

He reminded fans that Harcourt remains a developing talent who previously impressed at the WAFU Zone B Championship and U20 AFCON. Dosu said the young goalkeeper should focus on learning from the experience as he continues to mature in his career.
