Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, recorded a commanding 70–37 victory over Colombia in a group phase match at the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup Qualifying Tournament in France. The game was played on Wednesday at the Astroballe Arena in Villeurbanne.

Nigeria took control early and maintained the lead for more than 33 minutes, producing a strong defensive performance that restricted Colombia to just 37 points.

Guard Ifunanya Okoro led Nigeria with 10 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals in just over 28 minutes of play. Forward Nicole Enabosi recorded a double-double with 10 points, 11 rebounds and five assists, while Victoria Macaulay added 13 points and six rebounds from the bench.

Nigeria’s decisive moment came during a 16–0 run spanning the second and third quarters, which turned a narrow lead into a comfortable advantage. Colombia’s Mabel Martinez was the team’s top scorer with six points.
