D’Tigress have qualified for the quarter-final of the women’s basketball at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The team defeated Canada 79-70 in its final group game at the Pierre Mauroy Stadium in Lille, France, on Sunday, to secure their first-ever quarter final appearance in an Olympic basketball tournament.
There was little to separate the DTigress from the Canadians in the first quarter which ended 18-18.

At halftime, the Canadians were ahead with 41 points while they had 37. The third quarter saw the Nigerian team dominate the Canadians, and D’Tigress sealed the victory with strong performance in the final quarter, winning the game with a 9-point margin.
