Official police records indicate that over 6,000 individuals died in Duterte’s controversial anti-drug campaign during his presidency. However, human rights organizations estimate that the actual toll may reach as high as 30,000, primarily involving impoverished suspects killed without substantial evidence linking them to drug-related activities.
These killings are now under investigation by the International Criminal Court, which is looking into allegations of state-sanctioned crimes against humanity.
