The Ebonyi State governor, Francis Nwifuru, has approved the payment of N70,000 new minimum wage to civil servants in the state.
Speaking to journalists at New Government House in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi state capital, Governor Nwifuru said that the N70,000 minimum wage is not a salary increment, adding that the new minimum wage is a bed for the lowest amount eligible workers should be paid, and doesn’t speak to the entire workforce.
He directed the State Head of Service to draft out modalities for the payment of the new minimum wage.
