Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru has condemned the attack on the Amegu Nkalaha Community in Ishielu Local Government Area, carried out by suspected herdsmen, and vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice. A statement from his Chief Press Secretary, Monday Uzor, noted that the early Sunday attack resulted in significant loss of lives and properties valued in the millions.
Governor Nwifuru described the incident as barbaric and unacceptable, stressing that it was a blatant disregard for the sanctity of human life. He expressed deep sadness over the loss of innocent lives and warned that such recurring attacks were a source of grave concern for both the government and the people of the state.

The governor assured residents that his administration is committed to protecting lives and property. He directed security agencies to fully mobilise to the area and promised decisive action to uncover the circumstances behind the attack, urging the community to remain calm and cooperate with security forces.
Police authorities in Ebonyi have confirmed that over ten bodies have been recovered from the scene. Governor Nwifuru expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, adding that his thoughts and prayers were with them during this difficult time and that the perpetrators would be brought to book.
