Ebube Agu: South-Eastern governors float regional security outfit

A new regional security outfit has been announced across the south-eastern part of the country codenamed “Ebube Agu” as the governors step up to address the growing security challenges facing the region.

This agency will oversee the activities of local vigilante groups and will be headquartered in Enugu state, according to a communique issued by the 5 governors. The chairman of the south-eastern governors’ forum, David Umahi announced this at the end of their meeting which held yesterday in Imo state. 

The governor also condemned the recent attacks in the south-eastern region, both on security agents, their facilities and residents.

In related news, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo state is assuring northern residents in the state of adequate protection, informing them that they are ‘part and parcel’ of the state. He gave the assurance during a meeting with the leadership of the Northern Community at the Government House, Owerri. According to the Leader of the delegation, Adamu Baba Sule, they were there to offer moral support and solidarity to the state government and pledge their cooperation in the state.
