The President of the ECOWAS Commission, Omar Alieu Touray, has warned that growing insecurity in the Sahel and global uncertainty could undermine the bloc’s Vision 2050 agenda.
Touray said instability in parts of the region continues to affect economic integration, development efforts and cooperation among member states. He noted that security challenges remain a major concern for the sub region.

The ECOWAS Commission president called on member countries to strengthen collaboration in addressing shared political and security challenges.
He said sustained commitment to peace and stability is critical to achieving the long term goals outlined in Vision 2050.
