The Economic Community Of West Africa States (ECOWAS) has imposed fresh sanctions over the coup in Niger Republic.
Addressing State House correspondents yesterday, Presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, said financial sanctions have been imposed on individuals and entities relating with the military junta in the country.
The regional bloc had earlier given the junta in Niger seven days to reinstate President Mohamed Bazoum or risk sanctions, including possible military action.

The deadline elapsed last Sunday, and it saw the coupists vowing to resist any foreign intervention on their soil.
They also shut down the Nigerien airspace indefinitely and severed ties with Nigeria, Togo, France and the US.
ECOWAS has scheduled a meeting for Thursday to review the situation in the West African nation.
