The Edo State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed disappointment over the ruling of the election petition tribunal, which upheld Governor Monday Okpebholo’s victory in the September 19 governorship election.
The three-man tribunal, led by Justice Wilfred Kpochi, dismissed petitions filed by the PDP and its candidate, Asue Ighodalo, during Wednesday’s proceedings. The party had challenged the election outcome, alleging irregularities.

Chris Nehikhare, the State Publicity Secretary of the PDP Caretaker Committee, said both the party and the people of Edo State were dissatisfied with the judgment.
The PDP is expected to decide on its next course of action, with indications it may pursue an appeal against the tribunal’s decision.
