Nigerian rapper Eedris Abdulkareem has weighed in on the polarised reactions following the reported death of former President Muhammadu Buhari, urging political leaders to show empathy while alive if they expect sympathy in death.
President Buhari is reported to have died in a UK clinic on Sunday. While tributes have poured in from political allies, many Nigerians have responded with criticism, citing perceived leadership failures during his tenure.

In a social media post, Abdulkareem said legacies are defined by one’s actions in life, not sentiments in death.
Former senator Shehu Sani also appealed for restraint, asking Nigerians to forgive the late leader’s imperfections and allow his memory to rest peacefully.
