The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has detained 10 officers from its Lagos zonal command over allegations of stealing operational items.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale confirmed that the officers were apprehended last week following a directive by the commission’s chairman, Ola Olukoyede.

Mr Oyewale disclosed that the officers, whose identities were not revealed, are being questioned regarding the alleged theft and their inability to account for certain items.
This development follows the agency’s announcement on Monday of the dismissal of 27 officers over allegations of fraudulent activities and professional misconduct.
