The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission says it has returned more than ₦3.9 billion in recovered funds to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited. The handover took place on Thursday at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
The funds, totalling ₦3,936,145,822, were presented on behalf of the EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, by the Secretary to the Commission, Mohammed Hammajoda. Officials said the money was recovered through investigations into fraudulent activities linked to the oil company.
The commission reaffirmed its commitment to tackling economic and financial crimes, noting that the recovery was achieved through ongoing enforcement efforts.

Receiving the funds, NNPC’s Executive Vice President, Downstream, Mumuni Dagazau, thanked the EFCC for its support, describing the recovery as part of efforts to strengthen accountability and improve operations within the organisation.
