The Ekiti State Government has commenced recruitment of over 500 personnel into the Amotekun Corps, Agro-Marshals, and the Anti-Grazing Task Force in a bid to strengthen grassroots security.
The screening exercise began on Tuesday at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion in Ado-Ekiti, with officials emphasising the need to address rising security concerns in rural communities.

Brigadier-General Ebenezer Ogundana (rtd), Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, described the move as part of a wider effort to enhance the state’s security architecture and protect livelihoods.
The initiative is expected to improve surveillance in farmlands, reduce farmers-herders clashes, and support local crime prevention efforts.
Officials say the recruitment reflects the state’s commitment to safeguarding its agricultural sector and tackling open grazing through a stronger, community-focused security presence.
