Eleven people have been killed in a road accident at Okhuahe community on the Benin Agbor Road in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of Edo State. The crash occurred last Saturday, according to the Federal Road Safety Commission.
Seven other people sustained varying degrees of injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment. The accident involved an 18-seater commercial bus travelling towards Lagos and a truck.
Witnesses said the crash happened when the driver of the bus attempted to overtake another vehicle and collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle. The impact led to multiple fatalities at the scene.

The Edo State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Cyril Mathew, confirmed the incident, saying 11 victims died on the spot. He said the bodies were evacuated to the morgue, while injured passengers were taken to the hospital for medical care.
