Suspended Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar, has filed a lawsuit against Emeka Rollas, the president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN.
The actress, who was suspended over her alleged involvement in slandering Nollywood, also demanded N30bn from the AGN President following the announcement of her suspension on his social media handle.
Reacting to the accusations of alleged slander, the actress expressed that she had never been contacted or given an opportunity to respond to the claims before the announcement of her suspension.
In a letter from her legal representatives, she accused the AGN President of deliberately tarnishing her reputation, and demanded the immediate removal of what she labelled as the defamatory publication on Mr Rollas’ Instagram page, along with an unreserved public apology, including N30 billion in damages for reputational harm.
