The Enugu State House of Assembly has received a list of six commissioner nominees for screening and confirmation. The names were forwarded by Governor Peter Mbah and read on the floor of the House on Thursday by the Speaker, Uche Ugwu, during plenary.
The nominees are Benjamin Osita Okoh, Benedeth Ekwutosi Okoli, Eyinna Franklin Ogbonna, Samuel Ogbu‑Nwobodo, George Ugwu, and Ben Collins Ndu Junior. The Speaker directed them to submit 25 copies of their curriculum vitae to the Clerk of the House by next week Monday.

The date for their screening will be announced by the House Committee on Rules and Business. The exercise is expected to assess the competence and suitability of each nominee for the proposed roles.
Meanwhile, the Assembly held a valedictory session in honour of the late Anthony Okechukwu Chigbo, a former lawmaker who represented Uzo-Uwani Constituency from 2003 to 2011.
