The Enugu State Government says it is improving service delivery and boosting civil service productivity through digitalisation. Secretary to the State Government, Professor Chidiebere Onyia, stated this at the opening of a four-day training for administrative officers in Enugu.
Professor Onyia said the training, organised by the Office of the Head of Service, is part of efforts to equip civil servants with the skills needed to support the state’s vision of expanding its economy from 4.4 billion to 30 billion dollars. He added that promotion in the service will now depend on competence and adherence to digital transformation standards.

Head of Service, Dr Godwin Anigbo, explained that the training aims to enhance efficiency, strengthen governance, and support the state’s systemic reforms. He said the initiative aligns with Governor Peter Mbah’s plan to build a smart, agile, and reform-driven public service.
Dr Anigbo noted that the programme focuses on e-governance, communication skills, and ethical frameworks, adding that the government plans to provide digital tools and extend the training to all civil service cadres by 2026.
