Enyimba Football Club defeated Abia Warriors 2-1 on Sunday in an NPFL Abia derby played at the Aba Stadium.
The match remained goalless at halftime after both sides created chances in a tense opening 45 minutes.
Enyimba took the lead in the 60th minute through Chidera Michael, before Abia Warriors equalised in the 87th minute with a goal from Emeka Obioma.

However, Michael scored again in the 90th minute from the penalty spot after a foul on Wonah Williams inside the Abia Warriors’ box, sealing all three points for Enyimba, who now have 39 points from 32 matches and sit 15th on the table. Abia Warriors drop to sixth place with 49 points.
