Erdogan Condemns Israeli Action Against Gaza Aid Flotilla

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has strongly criticised Israel over its interception of the Global Sumud humanitarian flotilla bound for Gaza. He described the incident, which took place in international waters, as an “act of piracy” against civilians seeking to deliver aid to Palestinians.

Speaking at a ruling party meeting in Ankara, Erdogan said the attack reflected Israel’s determination to conceal its actions in Gaza, accusing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government of obstructing any prospect for peace. He insisted the flotilla had once again exposed the scale of suffering faced by Palestinians.

Erdogan reaffirmed Turkey’s commitment to supporting Gaza, pledging continued efforts towards achieving a ceasefire and restoring stability. He also stressed that Turkish authorities were closely monitoring the situation to safeguard the lives of citizens travelling on board the aid convoy.
