Nollywood actress and evangelist Eucharia Anunobi says her father opposed her education because he believed there was no value in educating a girl child.
Speaking on the Honest Bunch podcast, Anunobi said her father refused to support her schooling from secondary school, arguing that girls would eventually marry and take their husband’s name rather than continue the family legacy.
She said the lack of support pushed her into modelling, which she used to finance her education despite her father being financially comfortable.

Anunobi also said her father once locked her in her room for six months after she refused to accept an office job he arranged for her, adding that she sometimes had to sneak out to attend acting jobs.
