The Lagos State Government has re-arraigned convicted kidnapper Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, popularly known as Evans, over the alleged killing of two police officers. He appeared before Justice A. O. Ogala alongside co-defendant Joseph Emeka on a five-count charge of murder, attempted murder, and kidnapping conspiracy. Both men pleaded not guilty.
The case, previously handled by retired judge Oluwatoyin Taiwo, was transferred to a new court. The charges relate to the 2013 killing of officers Peter Nweke and Chijioke Ngozi in the Festac area, and an attempted abduction of transport magnate Vincent Obianodo.
