Ex-Federal Controller Of Works Murdered In Kwara, Police Commence Investigation

A retired Controller of Works at the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, AbdulRazaq Ajani, has been murdered in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State. The tragic incident occurred on January 1, 2025, when Ajani was attacked by four young men who had followed him home to his residence in the Tanke area.

Reports indicate that the attack took place around 3 pm, shortly after Ajani and his family returned from a New Year celebration in Offa, their hometown. Family members revealed that the assailants, aged between 18 and 22, casually entered the compound and carried out the brutal murder.

The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed the incident. According to the spokesperson, DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, no arrests have been made yet, but investigations are underway to bring those responsible to justice. 

Ajani had retired from the Federal Ministry of Works four years ago but had accepted a contract position in 2024. The motive behind the killing remains unclear.
