Former Environment Minister Mohammed Abdullahi has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC), ending his longstanding association with the ruling party.
In a letter dated 1 June and addressed to the party chairman in his Uke ward, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Mr Abdullahi gave no detailed explanation, stating only that he was stepping down for personal reasons.

A former commissioner for justice and attorney-general in Nasarawa State, Mr. Abdullahi served as secretary to the state government under Governor Umar Tanko Al-Makura, before joining the federal cabinet under President Muhammadu Buhari.
He was initially appointed Minister of State for Science and Technology, later redeployed to the Environment Ministry.
Mr Abdullahi thanked party officials for their support throughout his time in the APC.
