Former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Olumide Akpata has declared his interest in the 2024 Edo State governorship election under the Labour Party (LP).
He made the announcement during a visit to the State Secretariat of the Labour party in Benin City on Thursday.

Mr Akpata’s declaration comes two months after he joined the party, saying he wanted to be a part of the solutions to the state’s challenges.Â
The lawyer added that he took the decision because he got tired of complaining about Nigeria and bemoaning her fate.
