Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, says states are now receiving increased allocations from the Federation Account Allocation Committee, FAAC, and should use the funds to improve the welfare of their people.
Governor Oborevwori made the remarks on Monday in Ughelli North Local Government Area during the groundbreaking ceremony for the N39.3 billion Otovwodo flyover project. He dismissed claims that states lack funds, saying it is important to be honest with Nigerians about improved revenues.
He said FAAC disbursements to the states had risen and urged governors to deploy the additional resources transparently for development. According to him, using the funds effectively would make citizens happier and strengthen trust in government.

The governor said the Otovwodo flyover, being constructed by Julius Berger, would ease traffic and boost trade along the East West highway linking Warri, Asaba and Patani. He appealed to motorists to be patient and cooperate with traffic officials during the twelve-month construction period.
