The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria says cash and electronic payments will be accepted at airport access gates nationwide from March 13, 2026.
The hybrid payment system follows the suspension of the full cashless system after it caused traffic gridlock at some airports. The suspension was directed by President Bola Tinubu.
In a statement, Tunde Moshood, Special Adviser on Media and Communications to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, said the decision was taken after a review meeting with FAAN officials and senior ministry staff.

Motorists who already have FAAN Go Cashless Cards can continue to use them, while other electronic options, such as POS terminals and approved digital channels, will also remain available.
