A faction of the Accord Party in Osun State has announced a governorship candidate for the 2026 election, days after the emergence of incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke as the party’s flagbearer.
Clement Bamigbola emerged as a factional candidate after some party members highlighted disagreements over the process that produced the incumbent. They argued that the emergence did not reflect consensus within the party structure in the state.
The group said it conducted its own selection process and has put forward a candidate it believes meets party requirements. It also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission to take note of its position.
