Dikko assures payment of delayed Falcons bonuses

Falcons’ Bonuses Not Delayed Deliberately, Sports Commission Chair Dikko Assures

The Chairman of Nigeria’s National Sports Commission, Shehu Dikko, has dismissed reports of deliberate delays in paying allowances to the Super Falcons ahead of Saturday’s WAFCON final. He said the hold-up was due to standard government processes, not neglect.

Speaking in a monitored interview, Dikko assured that all player bonuses had been approved by President Tinubu and released by the Football Federation. He added that the funds should reach the players by the close of business on Friday.

Dikko also praised the team’s dedication and confirmed they remain a key part of the national sports budget. He said female players now receive more decent bonuses and are treated fairly compared to their male counterparts.

With the Falcons set to face hosts Morocco in the final, Dikko expressed confidence in the team’s focus and determination. He said the mission is to win a record 10th title, with strong support from across the country.
