Musician and activist Folarin Falana, known as Falz, has called for an emergency public hearing into the government’s handling of military funding, citing what he describes as a ‘national security emergency.’
In a widely shared video, Falz questioned why the armed forces remain poorly equipped despite billions allocated annually for weapons and logistics. He referenced recent ambushes on military convoys and the killing of an army general, asking why such incidents persist if funds are being properly utilised.

Falz urged Nigerians to pressure their representatives through coordinated emails, calls and messages, insisting the inquiry be aired live for full public scrutiny. He said the hearing must examine counter-terrorism strategy, allegations of under-equipped troops and measures to ensure citizens’ safety.
