Families of Offa Robbery Victims Demand N2.1 Billion Compensation from Kwara Government

Police operatives in Benue State have killed three suspected kidnappers and rescued a kidnap victim in Kwande Local Government Area. The operation, which took place on December 31, 2024, followed a distress call reporting the abduction of Tor Gajir by armed assailants. 

Force spokesman Muyiwa Adejobi confirmed the rescue, noting that the victim was unharmed and provided with medical attention. The operation also led to the recovery of two AK-47 rifles, six loaded magazines, and several live ammunition. Police are continuing efforts to apprehend the remaining gang members and recover additional weapons.

In a related operation, the Nasarawa State Police Command discovered an abandoned Sienna vehicle along the Keffi-Kaduna Highway on December 28. After following a trail, officers rescued two hostages who had been kidnapped and escaped without harm. The search for the fleeing kidnappers is still ongoing.

Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, praised the operatives for their successful operations and urged them to maintain their commitment to internal security. He also called on the public to stay vigilant and assist in ensuring safety and national security.
