The Federal Executive Council, FEC, also approved ₦242.6 billion for the rehabilitation, redesign, and construction of 14 major road projects across Nigeria.
Announcing the decision in Abuja on Tuesday, Minister of Works David Umahi emphasised the government’s commitment to enhancing road infrastructure, stressing the urgency of completing key projects by April to meet commissioning deadlines.

Meanwhile, the council deferred approval for the proposed construction of a new headquarters for the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency, FERMA, pending further review.
