The Federal Civil Service has completed its transition to paperless operations, meeting the initial target of a December 31 deadline. The milestone means all 33 ministries and five extra‑ministerial departments are now conducting business through digital platforms rather than traditional paper‑based processes.
This development was announced by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Walson‑Jack, during a briefing in Abuja. She said the transition was completed on December 30 and represents one of the most significant administrative reforms in recent history.
Under the new system, physical documents will no longer be accepted by ministries and departments, with official correspondence now routed through designated digital channels. More than 100,000 government email accounts have been created for civil servants to support secure and traceable communication.

Walson‑Jack said the shift aims to eliminate bureaucratic delays and enhance transparency, allowing citizens and businesses to interact with the government more efficiently.
