The Federal Government has launched Nigeria’s first online gas trading, clearing and settlement platform to modernise the energy market. The new platform was unveiled in Abuja on Thursday by officials from the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority.
The digital system is designed to make gas sales, purchases and settlements more transparent and efficient, encouraging investment and enabling better price discovery. It is part of the government’s broader “Decade of Gas” initiative aimed at diversifying energy infrastructure.
The platform will provide automated clearing and settlement features to reduce operational risks.
