The Federal Government has partnered with Siemens Healthineers in a landmark agreement to supply advanced medical equipment to six oncology centres across Nigeria, enhancing cancer treatment and care nationwide.
This strategic collaboration, managed by the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) on behalf of the government, seeks to improve outcomes for cancer patients with high-tech diagnostic and treatment facilities, bringing Nigeria closer to meeting its healthcare demands.
According to Tashikalma Halls, Special Adviser on Media Relations to the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, the minister oversaw the signing of the agreement, underscoring the importance of this public-private partnership in addressing critical health challenges.
Professor Pate emphasized that this agreement represents Nigeria’s first large-scale investment in modern cancer treatment infrastructure. He remarked that this partnership will empower the nation’s healthcare system to deliver timely and high-quality cancer care, meeting the needs of patients across the country.
