The federal government has disbursed N3Billion to states affected by the recent flood disasters across the country. The fund is meant to cushion the effects of the sufferings of their citizens.
This was disclosed on Wednesday at the National Economic Council Meeting held at the State House in Abuja and chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
Briefing State House Correspondents shortly after the meeting, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed said some states in the North were worst affected by the flood with lives lost and properties destroyed.

He explained that the money was meant to provide immediate relief to the victims of the disaster in the form of food and temporary shelter, especially those displaced from their homes.
Governor Bala said NEC also directed that a collaborative effort be coordinated by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture be put in place to ensure a holistic approach to addressing the flood disasters in the country.
