The Federal Government has filed fresh criminal charges against Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mike Ozekhome, over the alleged use of a fake Nigerian passport in a disputed property case in the United Kingdom. A 12-count charge was filed on Tuesday at the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja.
Ponfa Useni, son of the late former FCT Minister Jeremiah Useni, is listed as the second defendant. Court documents allege that the defendants used a false Nigerian international passport bearing the name Tali Shani to support a claim to a property in the United Kingdom.
The new charges come after an earlier case filed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission was withdrawn by the Attorney General of the Federation, who later took over the prosecution.

The Federal Government says the alleged offences, said to have occurred between 2020 and 2025, contravene provisions of the Penal Code Law 2009, including forgery, conspiracy and personation. Further proceedings are expected at the FCT High Court.
