The Federal Government has launched a Unified Institution Management Enterprise Resource Planning Portal to modernise data management in Nigeria’s polytechnics and technical institutions. The platform was developed by the National Board for Technical Education as part of efforts to improve transparency, accountability and efficiency in the technical and vocational education sector.
NBTE Executive Secretary, Professor Idris Bugaje, described the portal as a game-changer for technical education administration, while Dr. Babangida Albaba, Technical Assistant to the Executive Secretary, gave a presentation on its features, security systems and registration process.

The Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, represented by the Minister of State, Professor Suwaiba Ahmad, directed all polytechnics and technical institutions to register on the platform by December 2025, stressing that participation was mandatory.
NBTE assured stakeholders of robust data protection and technical support, saying the initiative would streamline administration, improve service delivery and strengthen oversight in technical education nationwide.
